Why We Aren’t Doing a Black Friday Sale

Again this year, we are not doing a Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale. Mail Order Mystery is a family-run business. We create personalized experiences for kids that take time to prepare. 

We don’t want to compromise our commitment to creating great experiences for kids in order to jump into the feeding frenzy of sales, compete to be heard above the noise, or artificially increase our prices so we can look like we are offering great deals for one weekend of the year.

Mail Order Mysteries cost the same amount all year round. Occasionally we offer a small discount for our newsletter subscribers, but we won’t be doing any more promotions this holiday season. 

So please don’t wait to buy a Mail Order Mystery. We live in a city that just entered another lockdown phase. The malls are closed. More and more people are ordering their holiday gifts online. Parcel delivery services are struggling to keep up, and Black Friday shopping could overwhelm it completely.

There are so many unknowns. We are taking it one day at a time, and keeping a close eye on all of the things that could affect our ability to get mysteries to our customers. If we are unable to deliver mysteries in time for the holidays, you will be the first to know.

We don’t know what is going to happen in the weeks ahead. Be we do know that today is like any other weird day, business as usual during a pandemic. So if you know you want to buy a Mail Mystery for a kid you love, now would be a great time to do it.
