My daughter and her friend (both 8-year-olds) LOVED this! She looked forward to her letter every week, which inspired us to host a Princess Marjorie meet-and-greet tea party. She has kept every letter and item! Core memory made!

The Enchanted Slumber
Gifted to 9 yo granddaughter and did the weekly mailing as her personality type would have completed it in one setting. Her response: "it was really fun and adventurous. Every time I got a letter, I couldn't wait for the next one. I recommend everyone does this."

Summer fun with Grandma
My grandchildren received their first mail order mystery and went looking for a pirate treasure very early this year. I had it sent to them on a week-to-week basis. When they open the first and second installments they were totally lost and confused so I told their mother to hang on to everything that came put it in a single box and wait until I came home. When I got home we sat down at the table and started reading and going through the mystery. By entering into the fun and games reading out loud and making it exciting they fell in love with the mystery. So this time I ordered spies lies and serious guys. I had it shipped in one single box and didn't allow it to be open until I was there. The children that I was with were eight and 10 years old. There's two great differences between them and that really is big. By entering into the fun all of the boring things for the 8-year-old we're exciting for my 10-year-old's grandson. And all the things that were silly like mustaches and disguises were fully entered into by my 8-year-old granddaughter. Between us all we had a great time! Although this can be very difficult and in fact I took the book home to read it on my own and finally it clicked, it can be done in such a way that even the difficult parts are totally overshadowed by all the fun parts. I think a lot of this is dependent on the children themselves. My 10-year-old grandson is right and loves all the ciphers. My granddaughter is bright but it's much more into the story and all of the extras that came in the Box. I hope to do another one next summer and found them well worth my money and their effort.

Amazing!
I bought this for the second summer vacation in a row for my nieces. They had a great time, they got stuck and figured it out.... Kept them busy and thinking!
