This year give the gift where kids don't just read a story, they're part of the story.
Treasure Hunt!: Who knew you had a long-lost pirate ancestor? Well you do, yaar! Solve the clues to find the treasure - unless the double crossing ne'er-do-wells get there first.
The Case of the Missing Bigfoot: An old mansion. A secret organization. A dinner party about to begin. The lights go out, there’s an upset in the dining room. The lights come on, the safe is open and the contents are gone. Who did it? The detectives on the case need your help!
Your child receives personalized letters addressed to them from characters in the mystery. Over six weeks curious letters, parcels and objects arrive by post including artifacts like keys, old treasure maps and mysterious necklaces. There are twists and turns, ciphers and clues and at the end a very special package.
See kids get excited about reading, problem-solving and using their imaginations instead of zoning out on screens. Mail Order Mysteries are extraordinary stories for extraordinary kids.
My son (9 yrs old)was excited to receive packages in the mail and it was fun to see him read without having to be told to do it! A great gift idea.
My children (8 & 10 yrs old) loved everything about the hunt. They were involved and waiting for the next item. They learned a lot about pirates, Jellyfish trees, and Palm Squirrels. I had no idea. Lol. At the end of the hunt, the treasures are wonderful and amazing! They are still wondering if they are going to hear from the pirates again or others. I suppose some day I will have to spill the beans. But for now, this was and still is so much fun to listen to their conversations about pirates!
My daughter (8) loved working the mystery along with her Grammie. The whole family enjoyed the time together solving the puzzle. Looking forward to our next one.
My students extremely involved in solving the mystery and the quest for the treasure. Each week they were excitedly waiting for the mail. One week it was a day late. They were so upset. The first question I was asked on the day it was to arrive, was "Is it here?"
A wonderful way to engage student learning!
Our grandson loves mysteries --- he even watches Poirot and Murder She wrote! He really loved this game and we enjoyed playing it with him. great fun for all of us!
I bought two of these, one for my daughter and one for my son. They looked forward to the mail every day and we spent the day reading the clues and deciphering the codes. Fantastic alternative to watching TV. Thank you!
We have bought our son several Mail Order Mysteries over the years. Enchanted Slumber was the second mystery we bought him. I have to admit, I didn’t think this one would hold his attention as much as the first one (Treasure Hunt) did. Boy, was I wrong. If anything, he was even more engaged with this story. He especially empathized with the Troll (he was delighted when he wrote the Troll…and the Troll wrote him back!). As before, he very much enjoyed getting his own mail, and took an active role in unravelling the codes (though he did need some help from time to time). As with the other mysteries, this one provides a present in the last mailing. The present for this one was a book about the various characters in the mystery. My son LOVED that book! Not only did he ask me to read it to him repeatedly, he also brought it back and forth to school for a week and basically learned to read using this book. It was the first book he showed any interest in reading himself (now it’s hard to get his nose out of a book).
Spies was a great choice for my 10 grandson. He has always been an avid reader, however he’s reaching that tween stage and reading doesn't seem to be on the top of his list :( Had Spies set for him to receive during summer break. He LOVED it!!!! Couldn’t get enough, even during his week at camp (which he loves) he wanted to know if “his mail” came. I am so hoping some more stories along this line are introduced.
Our daughter really enjoyed this-- so much that she wanted it as a gift the following year as well. For kids of a certain age this is perfect, not only for the mystery-solving but also for the pleasure of getting mail!
My kids were so surprised and excited every time they received something in the mail. Everything we received looked and felt so real to them that it made the entire experience so amazing. Great summer fun activity to keep their minds going
We gave this to our kids for Christmas! And then the envelopes started coming about every week! The kids 9 and 11 loved solving the clues and working out the answers! It was like the Christmas gift that kept on giving! Super fun family time and I would highly recommend it!
We ordered the treasure hunt mystery for our 7 year old daughter. It was such a fantastic experience! Our daughter was excited from the first letter and her excitement only grew with each package she received. The letters, maps and objects were all very authentic and great quality. Our daughter also loved deciphering the codes and puzzles. The customer service was amazing. I wasn't sure if this mystery would be appropriate for our daughter's age. The person I communicated with at mail order mystery answered all my questions and was very helpful. I would recommend mail order mystery to anyone who wants a unique gift for their child!
I purchased this for my daughter’s 8th birthday and it quickly became an activity that she and I worked on together, secret from the rest of the family! We looked forward to checking the mail for new packages of clues and would hurry off to hide and figure out our next steps! We were sad when it ended!
My daughter loved this and still carries around her spy card (she’s 11). We couldn’t figure out the safe combo, and some of the puzzles were advanced, but Grandma to the rescue! Was a big sucess
We did this as a family over summer vacation and it went beyond my expectations! My husband and I were just as into it as the kids!! Every package we got we were so excited to see what was inside! We had so much fun cracking codes and coming up with theories and suspects. I would definitely recommend this to everyone!
Letters couldn’t arrive fast enough after my son received the first letter! We had a lot of great conversations about our long lost pirate relative and talked about the mystery around the dinner table.
My 10 year old daughter loved the Mail Order Mystery as a Christmas gift last year. She loved solving the puzzles & looked forward to receiving the letters. It’s really worth the price!
I wasn't sure if his attention span would hold for the six mailings but he loved it! He was able to solve the puzzles and follow the storyline and loved it all. Especially when the saught after treasure arrived in the last mailing. He couldn't decide which piece was his favorite. Thanks Mail Order Mystery!
My ten year old daughter loved the mysteries, the clues, everything! She was completely engaged with the story and still talks about it a year later. Well worth the money and so unique!
It was great! My three girls Loved it and looked forward to the mail! Ages 3, 7, 9 great for all ages!
My boys, 8 and 9, wanted to learn about pirates and this mystery fit right in!!! I asked to have all clues sent together so I could strategically put them in our mailbox when needed—I knew they wouldn’t be able to wait a whole week for each clue and neither could I! Our whole family got involved—grandparents too—to keep the mystery as real as possible! My boys really believed for a little while that their great, great, great, great, great, grandfather was a pirate!!! And the treasure chest they received at the end was full of great stuff!!! It was worth every penny!
For the second summer vacation in a row my four grandchildren have worked together to solve the mystery - last year was Treasure Hunt and this year was Spies, Lies and Serious Bad Guys. They loved them both equally and I was happy to read other reviews that said some kids got so involved they thought the mysteries were true. This year they huddled in a room when they were working and didn’t want the adults to know anything, after all it IS top secret! I was privy to a scant amount only because they needed my phone to call “Headquarters.”
I love the mysteries and only request more please!
My nephews live across the country and I'm constantly on the lookout for fun things to send them. The Treasure Hunt takes the cake! Not only did I get to hear all about our pirating ancestor from them, but I received videos and photos every time a new parcel arrived from their mystery sender! By the time the last one landed in their mailbox, the whole family (including both sets of grandparents) had gotten in on the action.
What a great gift! I'm so glad we stumbled onto Mail Order Mysteries.
My granddaughter loved getting the clues and waiting for the next one. Last one was small gift and nice teachable lesson/message.
My 8 year old daughter loved this experience. She was 100% convinced after reading the first letter and both confused and excited that a knight would be writing to her. It’s a wonderful story charmingly written. We had so many fun learning experiences in this like guessing from context the final word of the puzzle and using a (child’s) thesaurus for the first time to look her guess up - she found the right answer in the list of synonyms!
All the letters and items are beautifully detailed and sufficiently realistic for her age — the different papers, the wax-sealed envelopes, the various kinds of pouches - so thoughtfully done. She was convinced this was her ticket to getting a long-wished-for unicorn and wrote to the knight that she would begin her training when he provided that to her. So... she never trained but enjoyed everything that did happen anyway :-).
And the customer service was helpful and timely. Through no fault of theirs our final package was lost in the mail -obvious from the tracking they provided. I emailed them and they set up to send a replacement the next scheduled shipping day. What a satisfying conclusion to the adventure!
I’ve told so many people about this product :-) except those whose children would likely tell my daughter about their same adventure! I’d love a follow on adventure that knew her from the first one. Without that, I’ll wait to order her another one until I’m willing to spoil the magic by teaching her how to tell that it was for pretend - still a valuable lesson!
We've had one mystery mailing before but this one was by far our favourite. The puzzles are amazing, the characters are amazing, and the book at the end is amazing. My daughter absolutely loved it!
We got this for our 8 year old son. It was very exciting for him to receive mail. He got very excited about the whole story, and it was pretty interesting for us adults, as well! Lots of fun. Would do another mystery!
Our 7 year old grandson had so much fun with the Treasure Hunt! mail order mystery. He loved using the personalized clues to solve the mystery and LOVED getting mail each week. This is was great "experience" to give a grandchild instead of a gift that would be used a few times and forgotten. I would 100% recommend Treasure Hunt!
Our 9 year old granddaughter loved The Enchanted Slumber mail order mystery! She looked forward to receiving mail each week and totally enjoyed the experience. The "artifacts" were cool and the problem solving skills she had to use were plentiful. This is a great gift idea for kids!
We did this one last summer and my son still talks about it. He remembers every little detail. It was so much fun!
My 11 year old grandson was delighted to get real mail and couldn’t wait to open up each clue and quest. I was thrilled with the activities and historical info (and reading) needed to solve it.
Did the Pirate mystery over the summer, and my whole family loved it! My kiddo is still truly convinced it was authentic, and that we have pirates in the family :) He keeps his treasure in the wonderful chest that arrived at the end along with new bits he collects....says every good pirate needs a hoard :P
This was the second Mail Order Mystery we got for our son (who was almost 8 at the time). He could relate to the story and theme and enjoyed trying to the solve the clues. I was amazed by the beauty and attention to detail in the final mailing. The whole experience didn't feel in any way, shape, or form, mass produced. We think a Mail Order Mystery is the best gift idea ever!
My nine-year-old son loved his mail order mystery! It was so fun to receive mail each week, and then work together to solve clues and decipher codes. He took it very seriously. As a parent, I was so impressed by the quality of the product and the attention to detail. It was a wonderful "experience gift" instead of another toy. Thank you, we'll be back!
Fantastic Experience all around! My daughter was checking the mail daily for more clues and loved working on all the puzzles. It was a good mix of puzzles and clue discovery that over delivered on fun
We purchased this as an end of the school year gift for our 2 sets of grandchildren (age 7 & 10) (age 9-11) and it was a hit! Both sets, girls and boys looked forward to their clues arriving in the mail and solving the mysteries. Both sets of parents were enthusiastic about the kits and the cousins loved connecting to discuss what they had discovered. This was our second Mail Order Mystery and I’d recommend it to anyone as a memorable gift that provides months of enjoyment and a lifetime of memories. We loved the phone calls, texts, photos and in person contacts with our grandchildren telling us what had arrived and how they were solving the mystery.
My 10-year old daughter loved her spy mystery experience! She couldn’t wait for new clues to come each week. We look forward to another mystery experience this holiday season.
My niece was thrilled with this as a birthday present. She FaceTimed me with each package, explaining and describing the clues that were sent. It was well worth the cost to see her excitement.
The fun of hitting a gift more than once. Then getting a gift every few week. Our son got the joy of mail repeatedly. We keep all the papers, and items that later where necessary to solve a code. This was a unique gift for our 13 year old. I worried he would be to old for it. He enjoyed it, he also would t let the 11 twin siblings help. Now the twins want one of their own!
My son loved every mailing! It was THE dinner table topic.
It isn't often that my kids are excited for something non-electronic and that they are excited to work together. This was a HUGE hit. We have all the mysteries so far. Can't wait for more.
I purchased Spies, Lies and Bad Guys for my 11 and 9 year d this summer. They rushed to the mailbox every Monday to get their package and had a great time working together to solve the weekly clues. We will most definitely be making a second purchase!
