I gave this as a gift for my granddaughters birthday. She absolutely loved it . She was so excited to receive her weekly hints / puzzles , she would FaceTime me and read to me the letters or show me the maps or puzzles . It really was the best experience for her and I to go through. The last package sent her over the top I loved hearing her detail the contents .
The gift was such a hit , her sister is awaiting hers for her birthday lol
I did this one with my 9 yr old grandson.
I was visiting from out-of-town, and had sent the complete package to their address, prior to my arrival.
Thank goodness I did, because we ended up doing the whole mystery in the 1 week I was there.
It was challenging at times. Thank you for having the web site with hints, we used it a couple of times.
We really had a great time solving the ciphers. He loved the prize at the end!

My two younger sons (10 and 12) loved working on the puzzles together. They needed my help from time to time but they had a blast and looked forward to getting new clues!
My 9 year old thoroughly enjoyed it and the puzzle solving was life time bonding.
My grandchildren (twins 8 years old and a nine year old) enjoyed the letters that I enhanced with pirate dig kits and treasure hunt days-super fun!
Purchased for my grandkids ages 5, 7 and 9. They LOVED it! The oldest would wait with excited anticipation for the weekly mail for the newest clue. Not only did they have fun, but it also led to great conversations across the miles as they would call me with the latest update and to explain all the crazy things that were happening. They were so excited to get the treasure at the end. Definitely going to do a few of the others with them over time. Highly recommend.
Our grandson enjoyed Spies, Lies, and Serious Bad Guys very much. He did not share any of the details of the mystery with his father, grandparents, or siblings, because the instructions indicated that it was TOP SECRET and was not to be discussed with anyone, despite our best efforts to find out about it. 😂 Because he was on his own with his mystery and because he is a resourceful 10-year-old, unbeknownst to anyone else, he looked the mystery up on the Internet at school to find out if the spy school was legitimate. (His one complaint now that his mystery was completed is that the package he received stated that the offices change location weekly so as not to be discovered…and yet, your company address has remained the same throughout. He still checks it weekly.😂 Too funny.
In all seriousness, he loved the mystery and the entire experience. To date, however, none of the adults in his life know anything about it, since — as far as he’s concerned — it’s still TOP SECRET.

I did not participate directly but her parents share she eagerly looked forward to each letter. With at least a couple of them, they worked on as a family too. So difficult to find something unique, educational & entertaining at a certain age. This gift checked all the boxes. ps - I also purchased the birthday girl a Sherlock Holmes like hat & vintage looking magnifying glass separately, printed the mystery intro letter onto a piece of parchment and tied it up with a ribbon, then wrapped all up in a gift box. It made for a fun presentation!
I gave this to my 7 year old granddaughter for Christmas. She absolutely loved it! I will certainly invest in another mystery again.
My 9 year old grandson loved it and it was fun working on together. He needed a little help keeping it organized but it taught him how important it is to keep things in order.

My grandson has enjoyed his Treasure Hunts. He has had a lot of fun with them. Receiving it in the mail has been so much fun for him.
I gave this to my niece's kids. The older kids loved working on it together and the littlest one was happy just to listen to the story.
I purchased this game for my grandson's 11th birthday. He played the game and solved the puzzle by himself. He lives in another state so I got his response and details over a phone conversation. He said it was FUN. He was challenged with critical thinking and problem solving. It was a good choice for his birthday.
My daughter is pretty sharp to my antics so I thought she'd see right through this from day one. Wrong. She completely became engrossed into the story and letters and items. So much so, that I had to spill the beans a couple weeks in because she started getting scared someone was looking for her!
Once she knew it was a game she completely relaxed and took to it even more. Loved every week it came through the end. She still uses the final box and trinkets a year later.
While I felt the price was a little bit steep for the finale, it's worth it to watch her dive in and have fun.
She brought it up last week how much she misses it, so I'm back for Spies, Lies, and Serious Bad Guys.

I have grandkids, aged 9 and almost 10, who are dear buddies but live six hours apart and don't see each other as often as they'd like. For Christmas this year, I gave each of them Spies, Lies and Serious Bad Guys. They did the first clue together at my house, and after that I mailed the clues and they did them together over Zoom. What a success! They loved having the chance to do something together and share a fun experience even though they're so far apart. I asked my grandson for a review and he said, "It was good, funny and great!" And even though they're done, my granddaughter just mailed a new clue that she made up to my grandson, with the return address "S.H.O.E." It's a wonderful thing to be able to give kids an experience they'll always remember. I have more grandkids and will be doing this again!
