How to Feed Your Kids’ Imaginations this Summer (🧠+🥕=✨)

As the school year draws to a close, we celebrate our kiddoes as they move on to the next phase of their academic adventure. But we also celebrate the end of a specific pain we feel as parents. For us, the best part of summer holidays has always been the end of packing lunches.

This is strange, when we think about it, because unlike fighting over mornings and homework, lunch-making is not a win-lose proposition. But maybe that’s the thing. Conflict offers the possibility of an occasional win. Lunches are a grind, and the work takes place at night, when we are tired, or early in the morning, when we are tired.

Kids still have to eat in the summer, of course, but somehow it is easier when we have a full range of options. In summer we are not racking our brains to think of leftovers they can eat cold, or new things to put between slices of bread, or fruit and vegetables that won’t sit untouched in their backpacks until we throw them out at the end of the day.

Summer holidays do present a different kind of challenge, however, and that is the continuous need to keep kids busy. Not only do we have to feed them actual food, we also have to feed their imaginations. And while we may not be able to help you with your meal planning, we can provide you with the best brain food around.

Mail Order Mysteries are irresistible adventures. Each mystery experience provides weeks of fuel for the imagination, guaranteed to keep kids blissfully out of your hair while you cook the macaroni and heat up the soup.
