No Tariffs or Extra Fees on Our Mysteries
We have said this before, but we will say it again, we love the New York Times Wirecutter for their great recommendations on every product imaginable. We are thrilled to be included on one of their lists - 32 best gifts for ten year olds. But this week we saw a Wirecutter headline that caused us some dismay: “Yes, tariffs will affect holiday shopping”.
We want to take a moment to reassure you with some excellent news. If you order a Mail Order Mystery today, you will not pay any tariffs and you will not be surprised with any extra charges.
We are based in Canada, and we most certainly have been affected by tariffs. Our costs have gone up for shipping and customs clearance. We have dealt with regulatory changes, new paperwork, border delays, headaches, meltdowns and tears. But the good news is that despite a bumpy few weeks in September our cross-border deliveries are back on track. And - the best news - we are NOT passing any tariffs or additional surcharges on to you. The price you pay on our website is the full cost of the mystery. There will never be any additional fees when the mystery is delivered, whether you live in the United States or Canada.

We have taken only one measure to offset our increased costs and that is to raise the price of our “Send Weekly” option for US customers. “Send Weekly” is the delivery option where we mail one letter a week for six weeks. But we have not raised the price for ordering your mystery “All in One Box”. And when you order “All in One Box” the letters in the box are exactly the same letters as the ones we send weekly (minus paid postage). The only difference is that we ship them all together. And you have the peace of mind of knowing that you have all of the letters in hand and you can dole them out at whatever pace you want. You can even stash them in the mailbox for kids to find.
One last cautionary word: we live in unpredictable times. No matter what happens we will do our best to find a way forward, but please take advantage of this moment of calm and ORDER NOW.
